LUBBOCK — The South Plains College men’s and women’s track and field teams wrapped up their second outdoor meet of the season Saturday afternoon at the Fuller Track and Field Complex, combining for three event titles at the Texas Tech Masked Rider Open.

WOLFFORTH — South Plains would lead by as much as nine in the final five minutes of Wednesday’s Region V quarterfinal matchup, but a late surge from top-seeded Ranger sent the contest into overtime, as the Rangers would knock down the game-winner with two seconds to play in OT to escape with a 76-73 victory at the Tiger Pit.

LEVELLAND — Three players scored in double figures Thursday as No. 17 South Plains took down Western Texas 73-67 at the Texan Dome. The Texans improve to 22-6 on the year and 10-4 in league play and will travel to Odessa on Monday to square off with the fourth-ranked Wranglers.
