Following a 20-win season and earning a berth in the Region V tournament in 2016, the South Plains College Lady Texans Dabraisia Baty and Yanina Inkina were named to the Western Junior College Athletic Conference All-Conference team on Sunday.

After ending the regular season as winners of seven of their last nine games, the South Plains College Lady Texans will have a chance to shock the NJCAA women's basketball makeup when they travel to the Brownwood Coliseum in Brownwood, Texas for the NJCAA Region 5 basketball tournament.
SNYDER— See you in Brownwood. In a must win situation with the season hanging in the balance, the South Plains College Lady Texans rose to the occasion presented on Thursday night, downing the Western Texas Lady Westerners 59-56 in Snyder to advance to the region five tournament in Brownwood.
CLARENDON— The South Plains College Lady Texans routed the Clarendon Lady Bulldogs 81-52 on Thursday night at the Bulldog Gymnasium to remain in the hunt for a regional berth with one game remaining.
LEVELLAND— Win the fourth quarter. The South Plains College Lady Texans did just so, outscoring the Howard Lady Hawks 22-12 in the final ten minutes of regulation to pick up a crucial 57-50 on Monday night at the Texan Dome.
The South Plains College Lady Texans remain alive and well in the discussion for a regional birth after picking up wins against Frank Phillips and Odessa College last week.
HOBBS— The South Plains College Lady Texans fell to the No. 9 nationally ranked New Mexico Junior College Lady Thunderbirds 65-55 on Monday night in Hobbs. Despite the outcome, South Plains proved to be a worthy opponent, if not more so, to one of the top programs in the country. The Lady Texans came out fearless over the first 20 minutes, with Elizabeth Cera and Ugochinyere Nwarie each chipping in six points to lead South Plains to a 27-23 lead at the half.
LEVELLAND— One step closer. The South Plains College Lady Texans picked up their fourth consecutive Western Junior College Athletic Conference victory over the last five games after routing the No. 23 Odessa Lady Wranglers 58-43 Thursday night at the Texan Dome.
LEVELLAND— Records are meant to be broken. Or in this case, shattered. Elizabeth Cera, a Freshman guard from Levelland, Texas, knocked down a school record 12 3-pointers en route to a 42-point performance, leading the South Plains College Lady Texans to an 85-56 conference win over Frank Phillips (10-10, 2-6) on Monday night at the Texan Dome.
MIDLAND—The South Plains College Lady Texans fell to the Lady Chaparrals 56-53 on Thursday night in Midland.
LEVELLAND— The South Plains College Lady Texans rode Jasmyne Martin's 14-point five rebound performance to down the Western Texas College Lady Wranglers 56-52 Monday night at the Texan Dome.
LEVELLAND— The South Plains College Lady Texans drummed Clarendon 92-48 to pick up their second conference win Monday night at the Texan Dome. SPC (14-8, 2-4) came out with urgency in the first 10 minutes of the contest, jumping out to a 19-0 lead after knocking down eight of its first 14 shots from the field in the first quarter. The Lady Texans would continue the assault and outscored the Lady Bulldogs 20-12 over the next seven minutes, and took a 30-point, 45-15 lead into halftime.
BIG SPRING— The South Plains College Lady Texans fell to the Howard Lady Hawks 63-59 in overtime Thursday night in Big Spring. Howard jumped out to a 19-6 lead after the first ten minutes of the contest, but South Plains (13-8, 1-4) answered back and outscored the Lady Hawks 37-21 over the next 20 minutes to take a 43-40 lead into the fourth quarter.
Levelland— The South Plains College Lady Texans fell to the ninth-ranked New Mexico Junior College Lady Thunderbirds 73-68 Saturday at the Texan Dome in Levelland. New Mexico went on a 11-1 run early in the first quarter, but the Lady Texans showed resilience and bounced back to take a 38-30 lead into the locker room at the break.
Odessa— The South Plains College Lady Texans fell to the Odessa Lady Wranglers 70-63 in a conference road game Thursday night in Odessa. South Plains' Elizabeth Cera led all scorers with 20 points while also hauling in four rebounds and two assists. Dabraisia Baty totaled 14 points and seven boards for the Lady Texans, while Ramiah Henry finished with 11 points and two boards.
