Born May 16, 2006, Icela Swaby is a freshman competing for the South Plains College women’s cross country and track and field programs in the 2025–2026 season. She specializes in the 800m, 1500m, and 2000m steeplechase.
A graduate of Holmwood Technical High School in Jamaica, Icela was a standout middle-distance runner. She placed 4th in the 2000m steeplechase at the 2025 Champs, showcasing her talent on one of the biggest high school stages in the Caribbean.
At South Plains College, Icela is pursuing a degree in Nursing with the goal of becoming a Registered Nurse (RN). Her long-term ambition is to build a career in health care while continuing to pursue her passion for running.
