Moore and Brainard help Lady Texans survive overtime scare
The Lady Texans held off the Lady Coyotes 82-74 in overtime.
Moore, an all-conference and all-region performer a season ago, had game highs of 25 points and 13 rebounds, while Brainard added 23 and 10. Newcomer Ijeoma Nzekwe also had a big day with 15 points.
South Plains (1-1) took a three-point lead to the locker room, 30-27, but by the end of regulation Chandler-Gilbert had forced extra time with a knotted score of 68. The Lady Texans outscored their opponent 14-6 in the extra period to earn even up their record on the season.
The Lady Texans will play their first home game of the season when they host Cisco College at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Texan Dome. Live video and stats of the game will be available at www.spctexans.com.
