WOLFFORTH—Grantham Gillard liked his chances. With Hill College dead-set on stopping the Texans' dynamic offensive attack and shutting down the likes of leading scorer Jordan Brangers, something had to give – And it did. Ranked ninth in the country in scoring, the sophomore from Radcliff, Kentucky needed just four 3-pointers to break Marshall Henderson's school record of 128 3s in a season. LEVELLAND—If you plan on asking South Plains men's basketball coach Steve Green how he navigates away from feeling pressure when taking to the hardwood, you should come prepared to defend such question. For a Hall of Fame coach who has amassed over 400 wins and two national titles during his 17-year tenure heading up the South Plains College program, coach Green still brings that 'next game is the most important game of the season' mentality with him when the lights come on in the arena.

Not once – not twice – but three times as the sophomore guard from Atlanta connected on a trio of 3s, the final one coming with 1:50 left in regulation to erase a nine-point deficit and give the Texans their first lead of the second half, 85-83. "I've been here before, and I just tried to keep calm for my teammates," Gallinat said. "I felt like we were a little rattled, and I just got a great pass and was able to finish the play. That's a good team, and it felt like they didn't miss a shot. When we got the lead, we knew we were going to have to keep pushing forward."

When you go down there and beat them by 40-plus, it's a really nice statement game for us."
