"I'm a big presence inside if I really play my game, and my team just gave me the ball and told me to go to work," Davis said. "I felt like we needed a big presence down there because we haven't had one in a long time. I told myself to just score the ball every time I touched it."

"I was able to hit a few shots to start off the game and kind of got cold there going into the second half," Brangers said. LEVELLAND—Jordan Brangers knew he was close. Ranked ninth in the country in scoring, the sophomore from Radcliff, Kentucky needed just four 3-pointers to break Marshall Henderson's school record of 128 3s in a season. Tack on the title of Sophomore Night in the Texans' regular-season finale against Western Texas, Brangers was ready to get to work. And that he did. Brangers knocked down three treys in the first eight minutes of the contest, the record setter coming at the 11:24 mark of the first half as the Texans capped off a perfect 28-0 regular season including a 16-0 mark in the WJCAC with a 109-76 dismantling of Western Texas College on Thursday night.

Not once – not twice – but three times as the sophomore guard from Atlanta connected on a trio of 3s, the final one coming with 1:50 left in regulation to erase a nine-point deficit and give the Texans their first lead of the second half, 85-83. "I've been here before, and I just tried to keep calm for my teammates," Gallinat said. "I felt like we were a little rattled, and I just got a great pass and was able to finish the play. That's a good team, and it felt like they didn't miss a shot. When we got the lead, we knew we were going to have to keep pushing forward."
