The South Plains College women's rodeo team captured the 2016 Western Junior College Athletic Conference championship after compiling 1,032 total points this season, with four Lady Texans earning All-Conference honors for South Plains.
RANGER— The South Plains College Texan and Lady Texans rodeo teams competed in their second competition of the spring semester this past weekend at the Ranger College Rodeo in Ranger, Texas.
ODESSA—The South Plains College rodeo teams traveled to Odessa over the weekend to compete in their first competition of the spring season. The Texans came into the spring ranked 13th in the Southwest region with a total of 405 points, while they Lady Texans began their campaign ranked third in the region, just behind Eastern New Mexico University and Texas Tech University.
Vernon— The South Plains College men's and women's rodeo teams concluded their third event this past weekend at Vernon College. The women's team, led by Shay Spitz, Rainy Robinson, Kortney McReynolds and Kara Burns brought home a third place finish after racking up 187.5 total points.
