#9 South Plains College Lady Texans Dominate #18 Tyler Junior College 86-66 at the Collin College Thanksgiving Classic

PLANO, TX - The No. 9 South Plains College Lady Texans closed out the Collin College Thanksgiving Classic in commanding fashion, defeating No. 18 Tyler Junior College 86-66 on Saturday, November 29, 2025. South Plains controlled the tempo from start to finish, winning three of the four quarters and pulling away decisively in the second half.
The Lady Texans outscored Tyler 44-31 in the final two quarters, using defensive pressure, transition offense, and dominant rebound to break the game open.
Angelina Joao delivered another standout performance, stuffing the stat sheet with 29 points, 16 rebounds, 7 steals, and 6 assists, showcasing her all-around impact in one of her strongest outings of the season. Isabel Joao followed with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Dilangue Cruz added 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists to round out the Lady Texans' top scorers.
With the victory, South Plains improves to 10-1 on the season, continuing their strong non-conference run.
The Lady Texans now return home to Levelland for the Texan Classic, hosting Cochise College on Friday, December 5th, and Otero College on Saturday, December 6th, at the Texan Dome. After next weekend's games, South Plains will break until January 5th, when they open WJCAC conference play on the road against Odessa College.
