Lady Texans come up short on the road to Midland
MIDLAND, Texas – South Plains Lady Texans traveled to Midland, Texas to take on the Lady Chaps Jan. 22. Midland College took the win over South Plains 81-54.

Markeyla Hicks led the team with 19 points; putting in 3-for-3 for three point shots. Victoria Lopez contributed an additional 11 points along with Courtney Randle's 10 points.
The Lady Texans began the game strong, with Randle sinking a three for the first shot of the game.
Back and forth the teams played point for point for the first 10 minutes of the game. It looked as though after a while that the Lady Texans shots were just not falling in anymore as the Lady Chaps continued too.
The Lady Chaps pulled ahead by 14 points coming into the half. South Plains ran some good plays placing more points on the board for them, they just did not catch the Lady Chaps quick enough.
The Lady Texans will be taking on Odessa College Monday night, Jan. 26 at 5:45 p.m. in the Texan Dome. Courtesy of City Bank, Prosperity Bank, Aim Bank, Sundown State Bank, and Hockley County School Employees Credit Union there will be FREE hot dogs given to those in attendance to the game.
