Lady Texans come up a split in Thatcher, Ariz
THATCHER, Ariz. – The South Plains College Lady Texans earned a split in their first road trip of the year, falling to Eastern Arizona College 64-46 Friday night and then clobbering Chandler-Gilbert 91-43 Saturday afternoon at the Eastern Arizona Classic in Thatcher, Ariz.

Courtney Randle led the way in the loss to the Gila Monsters, scoring 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field. As a team, the Lady Texans struggled from the field in their season opener, making just 13-of-45 (.289) shots.
South Plains (1-1) was much more efficient Saturday versus Chandler with five players scoring in double figures led by Johnesha Major with 17 points and Regina Scott's double-double of 11 points and 17 rebounds.
The Lady Texans made 33-of-67 (.493) shots from the field, including 9-of-20 from beyond the 3-point arc, and limited themselves to 11 turnovers compared to 24 by Chandler.
South Plains will next play Nov. 14-15 at the Seward County Classic in Liberal, Kan. where they will face host and No. 20-ranked Seward County at 6 p.m. Friday followed by a big game versus second-ranked Hutchinson at 2 p.m. Saturday.
