SPC basketball returns to the hardwood Dec. 31 in Arizona
LEVELLAND – After a lengthy layoff, the South Plains College Texan and Lady Texan basketball teams are scheduled to return to the hardwood Dec. 31 to begin a series of games in the Phoenix, Ariz. area.
The NJCAA top-ranked Texan men will play three games in Arizona before beginning conference play Jan. 7 at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, N.M., while the Lady Texans will play four games before their conference season begins Jan. 10 versus Midland at the Texan Dome.
The Texans (10-0), will look to extend a 46-game winning streak when they face Scottsdale (7-6) at 5:30 p.m. MST Monday, Dec. 31. South Plains will enjoy New Years Day without a game before facing Mesa (9-2) at 7:30 p.m. MST Jan. 2 and on Jan.3 will square off with Chandler-Gilbert at 3 p.m. MST before returning to Levelland.
The Lady Texans (9-2), meanwhile, open up their four-game Arizona series with Mesa (9-1) at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31. On New Years Day, the Lady Texans have a date with Scottsdale at 2 p.m., followed by a 5:30 p.m. tip-off at Chandler-Gilbert on Jan. 3. The Lady Texans will then head to Tucson where they will face Pima College at 3 p.m. Jan. 4 before returning home.
Texan and Lady Texan games at Scottsdale will be broadcasted live over the internet at www.spctexans.com. There is a strong possibility the Lady Texans game versus Pima Jan. 4 will also be available online. Live stats for all games should be available on the school's athletic website.
