Lady Texans begin conference action at Howard

South Plains (9-4) is coming off a 72-65 overtime loss to Pima College, while Howard (15-3) is on a three game winning streak since their last loss - a 67-64 overtime loss to the Lady Texans on December 4th on the final day of the WJCAC pre-conference tournament.
The Lady Texans have three players scoring better than 12 points per game, while sophomore Kelsey Canavan averages a double-double for the season with 11.8 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. As a team, the SPC women average 71 points per game, while holding their opponents to just under 60.
Howard enters with 77 points per game, while holding their opponents to 51 points, though they have played six games against junior varsity opponents.
SPC will host Midland in their conference home opener on Thursday, January 13th at 5:45 p.m. on McDonald's Night at the Texan Dome.
