Four Texans commit to four-year universities

Four members of the 2015-16 South Plains College men's basketball program will be taking their talents to the next level after signing with a four-year university in recent weeks.

Che Bob, a 6-foot-6 guard from Charlotte, North Carolina will be attending Colorado State University next season. Bob was named to the WJCAC All-Conference Team, the NJCAA Region V All-Region team, and was named the newcomer of the year in the WJCAC, as the sophomore averaged 15.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per-game last season. Bob shot over 50 percent from the field in conference play while also hauling in 221 rebounds. Bob scored in double figures in 20 different games, including a 37-point performance on February 11 against New Mexico Military Institute, where he went 14-of-18 from the floor in 37 minutes of action.

Deontae North, a 6-foot-4 guard from Corona, California, will head to Portland, Oregon and the Big Sky conference, where he will attend Portland State University. North finished the season averaging 12.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per-game, and also had 70 assists in 2015. North finished the season with 359 total points and shot over 40 percent from the 3-point line in conference play. North scored in double figures in 20 games for the Texans, including a 30-point performance against Midland College on December 2 where he was 9-of-18 from the field and 4-of-9 from long distance. A versatile shooter with the ability to score in many facets, North will be an asset to the Vikings offense next season.

Michael Wolfe, a 6-foot-9 forward from Germantown, Maryland, will head to Durham, North Carolina to attend North Carolina Central University. Wolfe appeared in 28 games for the Texans in 2015, averaging just over four points per-game and shot 49 percent (45-91) from the field. Wolfe set a career high in scoring on October 31 against Carl Albert State College, finishing the contest with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting and was 2-of-3 from behind the arc. Wolfe scored in double figures for the Texans in four games, including a 15-point performance against Hill College on March 2.

Dino Muminovic, a 6-foot-9 forward from Tuzla, Bosnia, will attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. Muminovic appeared in 23 games for the Texans in 2015, averaging 1.6 points per-game and shot 80 percent from the charity stripe. Muminovic set a career high in scoring with eight points on 3-of-5 shooting against Wayland Baptist University on November 21. Muminovic will give the Savage Storm, a member of the Great American Conference, a much needed inside presence next season.
