Holiday Inn Night At The Dome

The South Plains College Texans and Lady Texans will be hosting Frank Phillips on Holiday Inn Night tonight at the Texan Dome, sponsored by Frank McMinn and the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Levelland. A 40-inch Smart TV will be given away at the halftime of the men's game, courtesy of our sponsor.

The Texans will come into Monday's night's game hoisting a 15-7 overall record and a 6-3 record in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference. In their previous matchup with the Plainsmen on December 5, the Texans won 83-79 in overtime.

The Texans shot 56% from the field against the Plainsmen and had four players score in double figures. Sophomore guard Deontae North led the Texas in scoring with 14 points and also hauled in six rebounds.

Montell McRae went 4-6 from the field and finished with 12 points for the Texans, while Diamante Langston racked up 11 points and a team high five assists.

The Lady Texans were also victorious in their first matchup with Frank Phillips, as they downed the Lady Plainsmen 94-52 in Borger.

South Plains shot nearly 50% from the floor while placing four players in double figures. Freshman guard Jasmyne Martin led all scorers with 24 points and four rebounds for the Lady Texans, while Elizabeth Cera and Mia Cooper each finished with 16 points.

Taylor Holley went 3-for-6 from the 3-point line while racking up 10 points and five boards for the Lady Texans, and Ugochinyere Nwarie finished with nine points and four rebounds.

The Lady Texans will tipoff at 5:45 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30. Both games can be watched live on the spctexans.com website.
