JayCee McLendon 

Sports Information Director 

JayCee McLendon is a native of Lubbock, Texas, and a graduate of Monterey High School. She brings local pride and strong community ties to South Plains College, where she is committed to supporting the success of student-athletes both on and off the court.

JayCee is excited to return to South Plains College as part of the athletics staff. She began her collegiate journey at SPC, where she was a basketball manager and practice player from 2013-2015. She went on to attend Lubbock Christian University, earning her Bachelors of Art in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Sports Journalism. While at LCU, she served as a manager for the 2015-2016 Lady Chaps Women’s Basketball team that made history by winning the NCAA Division II National Championship with a perfect 31-0 record. 

For the past seven years, JayCee has been dedicated to education, teaching in Morton ISD while remaining deeply connected to athletics and student success. She and her husband, Jake, are proud parents of two children - Kinsley (4) and Bryson (7 months). Together, their family is thrilled about JayCee joining the SPC staff and contributing to the college’s strong tradition of excellence both on and off the court.
