Texans earn No. 14 seed to NJCAA Men's Basketball National Tournament

LEVELLAND — Earning an automatic bid to the NJCAA Men's Basketball National Tournament following an 87-83 victory in the Region V title game against No. 8 Odessa on Saturday, the South Plains College men's basketball team was tabbed as the No. 14 seed Sunday evening during the NJCAA Men's Basketball Selection Show.

The Texans will open the 24-team tournament on March 15 against the No. 19 seed, South Georgia Tech. The Tournament will be held at the Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kansas March 14-19.

Should the Texans be victorious in their opening-round matchup, they will await a showdown with the No. 3 seed Kilgore College. The Texans will be making their sixth consecutive trip to the national tournament, advancing to the Elite Eight a year ago.
