Texans set for 2021 Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout Dec. 27-29

LEVELLAND — The South Plains College men's basketball team is set to return to the hardwood on Monday when they square off with No. 15 Snow College at 8 p.m. MST on the campus of Mesa Community College as part of the 2021 Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout in Mesa, Arizona.

South Plains comes into the contest with a record of 4-5, including a 78-73 win over New Mexico Military Institute in their last outing on Dec. 4 in Levelland. Should the Texans win on Monday, they will advance to the winner's bracket and take on either Midland College or Mesa Community College at 6 p.m. on Dec. 28.

The Texans have a rich tradition in the desert, capturing the Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout title in four of their last five appearances. The tournament will stream live in its entirety at spctexans.com and can be accessed at the following link: https://mesatbirdsports.com/live

Following the tournament, South Plains will play a final game as part of a four-game road stint when they match up with Chandler Gilbert Community College at 1 p.m. MST on Dec. 30 in Chandler, Arizona. The Texans will then return home to continue conference play, tipping off against Howard College on Jan. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Texan Dome.
