LEVELLAND — Leading the second-ranked Texans to a 3-0 start to begin the year, sophomore Myron Gardner was tabbed as the NJCAA Div. I Men's Basketball National Player of the Week Wednesday.
The Georgetown transfer led the Texans on the offensive end as the 6-foot-6 guard from Detroit recorded a pair of double-doubles, averaging 20.7 points and 9.3 rebounds last week. Gardner scored 17 points in the Texans' first two contests before dropping in a career-high 28 points against Strength 'N Motion, bucketing 9 of 13 shots from the field and was 6 of 9 from 3.
