FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The string of solid performances continued for the South Plains College track teams as they completed the second and final day of competition at the Tyson Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center. Sophomore Keri Emanuel broke a school record for the second time in two days as she set a new SPC standard in the women's triple jump and the men's 4x400 relay just missed the school and NJCAA indoor national records in the collegiate invitational that can be seen on tape delay Sunday beginning at 1:30 p.m. on ESPN 2. Several others attained seasonal or personal best marks.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Sophomore Keri Emanuel broke the school record and the women's long jump and several other SPC athletes earned season or career best to cap-off a successful first day at the Tyson Invitational.
Emanuel's school record came when the leap on her fourth attempt was measured at 19-09.75, nipping the record previously held by Erynn Young by just over an inch. Emanuel now owns both indoor and outdoor records and she has cleared 20-feet outdoors.

LEVELLAND - The South Plains College track and field teams
will wrap-up their indoor schedule this weekend when they compete at the
prestigious Tyson Invitational on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. The meet is one of the biggest in the country
and will feature some of the top teams the NCAA has to offer, including the No. 1 ranked Arkansas Razorback men and the No. 2 ranked LSU women's team. All totaled, there are 10 men's teams ranked in the top-25 and nine women's teams entered in the meet.

LUBBOCK - After taking a weekend off, the South Plains College Texan and Lady Texan track and field teams returned to action in full force at the Texas Tech Athletic Training Center Saturday. Athletes representing South Plains College had another splendid outing as two school records were tied and five first place finishes were earned.
Freshman Jarvis Gotch is the first Texan to earn a school record in 2012, tying the record of 24-feet, 10-inches set last indoor season by Anthony May. Gotch won the event as well, defeating the second best attempt by more than a foot.
Keri Emanuel tied Collen Felix's 2009 school record in the triple jump with a best leap of 40-07.50. The mark is Emmanuel's best as a Lady Texan and is a little more than a 5-inch improvement upon her best indoor mark last year. She did jump better during the 2011 outdoor season, eclipsing 41-feet.

The South Plains College track and field teams will compete at Texas Tech for the third and final time of the 2012 indoor season when they begin competition on the Red Raider Open February 4, where field events begin at 10 a.m. A handful of SPC athletes will run in the 55-meter dash for the first time at approximately 11:45 p.m.
