CASPER, Wyo. – After failing to record a time in the first two rounds of the steer wrestling competition at the College National Finals Rodeo, sophomore Ty Willick threw down a time of 4.9 seconds during Wednesday's third round and currently leads with only 23 competitors remaining.

At the present time, Willick's performance bumped him from 41st position all the way to 17th overall.  Unfortunately, two missed steers in the first two rounds will most likely keep Willick out of Saturday's final as only the top 12 will advance.
