LEVELLAND — The South Plains College Texan and Lady Texan rodeo teams will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 19 at the Texas Tech University Rodeo at the Texas Tech Equestrian Center.
In their previous outing in Perryton at the Frank Phillips College Rodeo, South Plains earned a pair of top 10 finishes as the Lady Texans finished fourth overall with 180 team points, while the Texans placed 10th with 110 team points.

Jenna Dallyn added 155 points to her season total, placing first overall in goat tying thanks to a 16.4 overall average. Dallyn won the long round with a time of 7.6, which she followed up with a short round time of 8.8. Previously ranked ninth in the Southwest Region, Dallyn jumped six spots and will enter the weekend ranked third in the region with 210 points.
Alex Odle extended her lead in the regional standings in barrel racing with a 10th place finish on Saturday. Odle ran a long round time of 17.66 followed by a 28.88 in the short round to pick up 25 points and currently ranks first in the region with 330 points.
Freshman Kody Criswell won the long round of the breakaway roping event with a time of 2.2. Criswell missed in the short round but managed to finish the weekend with a seventh place overall finish for the Lady Texans. Criswell comes into the weekend ranked 12th in the region with 60 points.
The Texans' Zack Kirkpatrick climbed his way to the second spot in the regional standings in steer wrestling thanks to a second place finish in Perryton. Kirkpatrick ran a 5.1 in the long and short rounds to finish with a 10.2 average and 100 points. Kirkpatrick sits just 10 points behind Howard's Burley White.
