The past three months have been good to South Plains track standout Natassha McDonald.
As a freshman running for the Lady Texans, McDonald was crowned national champion in the women's 400 meters at the 2017 NJCAA Outdoor National meet in Hutchinson, Kansas where she posted a time of 53.52.
A native of Toronto, Canada, McDonald recently competed in the Canadian Track & Field Championships at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility in Ottawa where she was named the Canadian National Champion in the 400 meters with a dazzling time of 52.20. McDonald also earned national runner-up honors in the women's 200 meters with a time of 23.21.
For her efforts, McDonald qualified for the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London where she will represent her home country as well as South Plains College. The biennial championships take place August 4-13 which will feature some of the top runners from across the globe.
