BOYS TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Click here to view a copy of the Class A Region I Division I and II Boys Basketball Tournament Bracket scheduled in Texan Dome, South Plains College, Levelland, Texas on March 6 - March 7, 2009. The bracket will be a continuation of the UIL State Playoff Bracket. Officials for the tournament will be assigned by the UIL State Office. Also use the team information form to be filled in and returned via email with an attached team photo to the tournament director (bbradshaw@southplainscollege.edu and awalker@southplainscollege.edu) as soon as the bi-district is determined. There will be rooms available to you at the Best Western Inn & Suites of Levelland (806-894-9155), Levelland Motel (806-894-7335) and the Levelland Holiday Inn Express (806-894-8555) if you choose to stay in Levelland. Call and make your own reservations at either of these hotels after you have spoken to the Regional Director about the tournament information.

Only five passes will be issued to each school. Teams, managers, coaches and cheerleaders will be admitted by the gate attendants. Each team shall bring a game ball and the officials shall choose one for the game. Warm-up balls will not be provided so bring your own practice balls.

Tournament packets, which include team rosters, records, official assignments, passes, mileage sheets may be picked up upon arrival in the foyer of the Texan Dome. There will be no practice allowed in the building prior to 30 minutes before the scheduled starting time of the first game and 20 minutes before the second game. Coaches please keep your players off the rims during warm-up, a broken rim or backboard could cause injury and will delay our tournament. The officials will be instructed accordingly. The Texan Dome will not be used for any Class A Playoff games prior to the Regional Tournament.

Each school must bring their own training supplies and towels. The South Plains College training room will be available for use and one of our trainers will be on hand at all times. We shall supply water and cups at the end of each bench for your team use.

Please see that your district champion and runner-up understand these sheets must be completed and return to my office by each of the respective teams as soon as certified as district winners or runner-up.
