LONDON, England - Former Lady Texan standout Sally Kipyego will attempt to add an Olympic medal to her already impressive resume when she toes the starting line in the women's 10,000-meter final at 3:25 p.m. local time and 9:25 p.m. in London.

Kipyego earned silver in the event during last year's IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea.


During her college years Kipyego won numerous NJCAA and NCAA championships to become one of the most decorated college athletes of all time. She currently trains in Eugene, Ore. as a member of the Oregon Elite Track Club.

Kipyego is also entered to compete in the preliminaries of the 5,000-meter run on Tuesday, August 7.

Former SPC standout Renny Quow will run the first round of the 400-meter dash on Saturday, August 4. Quow earned a bronze medal at the 2009 IAAF World Championships in Berlin, Germany.
