WACO - The South Plains College Track and Field teams will compete at the Dr. Pepper/Michael Johnson Invitational April 21 on the campus of Baylor University where they will attempt to continue to pile up and improve upon NJCAA qualifying marks.

Field events are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. with school record holder Amethyst Boyd starting things off in the women's javelin throw. Afternoon running events will follow a rolling schedule beginning at 12 p.m., while the evening running events begin at 5 p.m. with the 3,000 meter steeplechase. The meet will conclude with the 4x440 yard relay at 8:30 p.m.
