
LEVELLAND, Texas - SPC Lady Texan track and field saw two more school records fall and added 11 new or improved NJCAA qualifying marks in their final tune-up before the NJCAA championships to be held May 20-22 in Hutchinson, Kansas. The Texans added three new improved NJCAA marks.
Angelle Miranda, Kadian Dunkley, Shakeeri Cole and Lisa Forsberg crushed the 2003 school record of 9:33.70 in the women's 4x800 meter relay when the quartet got the baton around the track in 9:07.57.
Erynn Young, who tied the school record in the women's high jump two weeks ago at the Oklahoma Invitational, claimed sole possession of the record when she cleared 5-07.75 and won the event.
In addition to the 4x800 meter relay and Young's mark in the high jump, Lady Texans claiming new NJCAA marks on Saturday were: Shaneika McRae (high jump, long jump, triple jump), Kia Wansley (long jump), Angelle Miranda (400), Lorianne Pattee (800), Nicquel Thomas (200) and Angelique Lykes (200). Texans claiming new NJCAA qualifying marks are: Daniel Rodriguez (discus), Anthony May (long jump), Kemar Marsden (200), Troy Faulkner (200).
The Texans and Lady Texans will return to action when they travel to Hutchinson, Kansas for the NJCAA championships to be held May 20-22.
