SNYDER, Texas - The Lady Texans (16-8, 7-2) went on the road and defeated Western Texas College (12-14, 1-8) 62-51 Thursday night in Snyder, led by Sajoyia Griffin's 13 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Ashlyn Green added 11-points, all from the charity stripe on 11-of-14 shooting.

Griffin helped SPC out to an early lead by scoring 10 points and pulling down eight rebounds in the first half of play, ultimately sending the Lady Texans to the locker room with a 35-20 lead.

Jasmine Taylor added nine points for the Lady Texans, while Kelsey Canavan just missed her tenth double-double of the season as she finished with eight points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Christen McLee contributed seven points in the Lady Texan victory.

Coach Wyatt's squad will return to action on Monday night at 5:45 p.m. when they square off with Odessa College (20-5, 4-4) at the SPC Texan Dome. The Lady Texans squeaked by the Lady Wranglers 54-53 on January 21 in Odessa, who are currently in a battle for the third and fourth spots in the WJCAC standings, two games behind South Plains College who are in second.

Monday's game will be presented by Covenant Hospital of Levelland in an attempt to promote breast cancer awareness and Covenant will be raffling off a Sony blu-ray player to raise money to fund mammograms for women in the Levelland area. Tickets for the raffle are $2 or fans can purchase three tickets for $5.
