LEVELLAND, Texas - The South Plains College Texan and Lady Texan basketball team will both be looking to improve their records tonight against tough Frank Phillips College squads.  The Lady Texans tip-off at 5:45 p.m. while Texans are scheduled for a 7:45 p.m. start.

The Lady Texans (12-7, 3-1) look to improve their winning streak to three games and stay on top of the Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) leaderboard against the Lady Plainsman who boast a 15-4 overall record (2-1 WJCAC) but have lost two straight games.  Sophomore Sajoyia Griffin has had the hot hand recently, averaging 20 points per game over the Lady Texans last three outings.

The Texans (11-7, 1-3) need a win to climb back up the WJCAC standings, but they are going to have to limit a Plainsmen (16-4, 2-2) team that is averaging just over 75 points per game in four conference contests and has four players averaging double figures for the season.  Texan sophomore forward Bo Ingram will look to keep a hot hand as he has averaged 14.5 points per game and is shooting nearly 45-percent from beyond the three point line in four conference games.
