
LEVELLAND, Texas - The South Plains College Texans dominated the Lubbock Christian junior varsity squad 97-41 on the final day of the Texan Classic to improve their record to 3-1 on the season.
Antwain Thomas was the leading scorer for the Texans, with 15, on a day every player on the bench put points on the board. Freshman Victor Holloway scored 13 points, Malik Smith added 11 points shooting 4-of-5 from the field and Khaliq Gross was in double digits with 10 points and also added five rebounds and four assists. Josh Orta had an all around performance with 8-points, 8-rebounds, and 8-assists.
The Texans return to action on November 19 when they host Southwest Texas Junior College at 6:30 p.m. at the Texan Dome. The next day, Friday, November 20, the Texans will play host to Temple College to open the SPC Classic. Temple handed the Texans their only loss of the season on November 9. SPC will play Coastal Bend College on Saturday, November 21 1 p.m. to complete the SPC Classic.
